NO MORE CHICKEN FEET

#051 - Legs Work Out

It's the time of year again, everyone all of the sudden is ready for the beach body. The guys are wearing tank tops and the ladies are literally walking with their bikini top. With a still high metabolism and genetic inherited lean body, I don't strive to become the next 'situation'. Instead I choose to work out particular body part, and yes,  mostly the upper body.

Given the more relaxed fit trending for the next year, I decide to let go that Dior Homme body and start working out like a man. In other words, no more skinny chicken legs and really strengthen the core and the foundation.

I come across to this exercise routine that turns out to be quite challenging to me. But I am still going to try it for a week and see if my muscles are pumping. For all you readers out there, share with us how do you work out your leg muscles and what's the most effective work out for you.

1/ Box Jumps (pictured, above)
Stand facing an 18-inch box with feet hip-width apart, arms at sides. Jump up and land with feet simultaneously on top of box. Step or jump down to starting position. Do 10 reps.

2/ Lateral Band Walk
Stand with feet hip-width apart, a resistance band tied around both legs at the ankles. Bend knees slightly. Take a wide step to the left with left leg, then step right leg toward it, keeping the band taut. Do 30 reps, then switch sides to complete set.

3/ Sprinter Starts
Stand facing a wall 2 to 3 feet away, extend arms at shoulder height in front of you, and lean forward, resting hands on wall. Bend right knee and drive left knee forward and up to chest as you rise onto ball of right foot. Immediately lower leg. Do 15 reps, then switch sides to complete set.

4/ Curtsy Lunge
Stand with feet hip-width apart and hold a 20-pound dumbbell in right hand, left arm at side. Step back, crossing right leg behind left. Bend knees so left thigh is nearly parallel to floor. Return to start. Do 15 reps, then switch sides to complete set.

#050 - Double-breasted Suits

'Honestly, it's not easy to wear suits in the summer'

With temperature swinging between the 70s and 80s, it isn't too hard to imagine the suffering of wearing layers while walking down the street in the middle of New York. But damn! Man just look good in a suit, period!

Personally, I think pulling off a double-breasted jacket is tricky. Most of the time people regard its trendy but formal style, but a wrong style might also cause you be mistaken as a Donald Trump.

Well, we got some tips for you.

Sometimes the magic between formal and causal cocktails a style that is  dynamic, fun yet very forward and impressive. And I call it Hollywood Smart Casual. The 'they-don't-care' celebrities effortlessly steal your attention with a simple white tee-shirt and a suit jacket. Turns out not only it works for them, it is also fairly easy for us gents.

The Emporio Armani suits (Top) in a rich light grey color is all you need to steal the show. The best thing about a subtle color is... it allows you to dress up and down and fits into different occasions. But you won't feel over/underdress.

(Above) For formal dinner or cocktail situation, simply match the white shirt with dark color suit. Whether you decide to go with a tie or not, your double-breasted suit could be your one way ticket to the great impression.

Good Morning Gents!

First off, consider suit separates. Mix and match colors has become very common and easy to shop. Keep your pants color subtle and you can throw on a more 'summer-ish' color blazer. Yes, we mean a light color! Because every individual piece is office appropriate, it never strikes an awkward 'too trendy' vibe to your colleague.

But yes! You look different. By different, I mean BETTER. The difference between charmer and office slave.

If suit pants aren't your office requirement, try differentiate your style with highlights of bright color.  (Left)

Casual smart style has been in the market for years, you have seen celebrity dressing similar styles. Here is the magic, your suits has to fit you well, then pair those killers with a crewneck shirt or sweater. (Center)

Mix and match patterns is also a way to show others you have a taste and know how to style. Keep your pieces in the same color tones and leave the texture on the jacket. (Right)
